Located on the widest part of the island, the town of Palm Beach Shores is convenient and easy to access. To the north, the island narrows to a strip where fabulous condos with water on both sides allow owners to walk to the white sand beaches of the ocean or lake right outside their doors.
Singer Island Parks Provide a Place for Fun
The park system on Singer Island is extensive, with many acres set aside for the public to enjoy, as well as to protect native species of plants and animals. The famous Peanut Island was created from the dredging of the inlets and Intracoastal Waterway. A quick water taxi from Sailfish Marina can get you to the island where you can picnic, camp, rent water toys and snorkeling equipment, or hike or bike the many trails and paths to see the wildlife of Florida.
On the north end of the island, MacArthur Beach State Park, is set aside as a wildlife conservation area. In protecting nesting sea turtles many island volunteers actively participate. The Sea Turtle Conservation League of Singer Island conducts nesting surveys each morning from March 1 through October 1 to be sure that these nests are safe. Displays for visitors to the park and information are also provided.
