India has a unique and diversified vegetation and lifestyle. India has many wildlife sanctuaries from the north to the south, this includes the bird sanctuaries. The diverse bio-diversity and heritage are the major attractions for people who come here from all over the world. The rarest of the rare species are also found here. With some 96 national parks and 500 wildlife sanctuaries, the main few are The Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve – Uttaranchal, Kanha National Park and Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh, Ranthambhor National Park - Sawai Madhopur, Gir National Park - Sasangir (Gujarat).

Corbett National Park: As, Established in 1936, it is India's first eco-park. It spreads over 920.9 square kms, Corbett is India's most popular national park. Known worldwide for Tigers it also encompasses 110 tree species, 50 mammals’ species, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species.

Kaziranga National Park: It is based on the banks of Brahmaputra River. The park spans over an area of 430 sq kms. The famous one horned rhinos are found here in this park. This park also comes under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of India.

Periyar National Park: A park which is located in kerala, it is one of the most visited eco-parks of India. It spans over 350 sq. km.. the park is also knpown for two of its majestic animals which re Elephants and tigers. The Periyar national Park is also known as the Tiger reserve in Kerala, India.

Sariska Tiger Reserve: Established as a National Park in year 1979, the park is situated in Rajasthan and is famous for Tigers which are housed here. The Sariska National park also supports a varied range of flora and fauna. Other attractions for the tourists are the Kankwari Fort, the Palace and the Shiv Temple.

Sundarbans National Park: Formed in 1973, the main area of Sunder ban was called a National Park in 1984. Sunderban National Park comes around the West Bengal region of India. It has also been declared as a Biosphere Reserve and also the UNESCO World Heritage site.

Dhudhwa National Park: Another Tiger Reserve in India as located in Lakhim Pur Kgeei District of Uttar Pradesh. This spans over an area of 81 sq kms. The Dhudhwa National Park in India has some 38 species of Mammals, 16 species of Reptiles and many species of birds.

Gir Wildlife Sanctuary: This was established in year 1965, this is a huge park, spread over an area of 2450 hectares. This Park is famous for housing another majestic animal, India Lion.

Kanha National Park: Another home for Tigers in India, the Kanha National Park is in Madhya Pradesh. The park was created in 1974 under the Project Tiger. The park spreads over an area of 940 sq kms. It is this park which houses maximum number of tigers in India.

India, a country with varied flora and fauna, it also has many animals which are rare. One must visit the parks to feel close to nature and the wildlife.
